NFL WEEK 11

Monday night wasn't just a typical night in the NFL. The NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS  took on the CAROLINA PANTHERS. The panthers came into this game having a rocky season, the first 4 games of the season , but since have been on a 5 game winning streak. The panthers came into this game 6-3 on the season. The patriots came into this game, top of the AFC with a record of 7-2. First quarter the panthers would show that they were the tougher team, on both sides of the ball, holding the patriots to zero points in the first quarter. The Panthers would also show that there offense was strong as well, with a touchdown pass late in the first, from Cam Newton to Brandon La Fell for a Panthers touchdown (9 yard pass).The panthers would be leading 7-0 at the end of the first. Second quarter the patriots defense began to show there intensity, as they would hold the panthers to a 43 yard field goal in the middle of the second quarter (kick by Graham Gano). Later in the second quarter the patriots would avoid a shut out in the first half with getting a late 42 yard field goal by Stephen Gostkowski.  The panthers would be leading at the half 10-3. Second half the patriots would make a come back, opening up the third quarter with a touchdown drive from Tom Brady to Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski. (9 yard pass). The panthers would answer back with a touchdown drive of there own, with quarterback Cam Newton leading the way with a 15 yard pass from Newton to Greg Olsen , to put the panthers up 17-10 at the end of the third quarter. Fourth quarter the patriots would bounce back with a touchdown drive and patriot Stevan Ridley would lead the way to run 1 yard for the patriots touchdown. The panthers would turn the ball over in the next drive and the patriots would take advantage of it, having a scoring drive of there own, with kicker Stephen Gostkowski kicking a 26 yard field goal for the patriots, making the score 20-17. The panthers knowing the game was on the line drove up the field for the panthers touchdown. Cam Newton Leading the way throwing 25 yards up the field to Ted Ginn Jr. making the score 24-20. The panthers would go on to win the game 24-20, extending there winning streak to 6 games.
