NBA SUNDAY

Today's match-up of the day were the HOUSTON ROCKETS vs PORTLAND TRAILBLAZER. The Houston Rockets came into this game with a record of 43-19. The rockets, since the beginning of the calendar year have had the best record in the league only going 22-5. They were the team to beat, coming into tonight's match-up against the trail blazers. The trail Blazers came into this game with a record of 42-20. The trail Blazers are currently the number 5 seed in the Western Conference. They have had their team struggles this season, as they were a clear leader in the Western Conference, but since the beginning of the calendar year have continued to increase there amount in the lost column. They were hopeing that tonight's match-up would help them get back on the trail to winning games and getting back to their great style of basketball. First quarter both teams would come out very strong both playing solid defense, but the trail blazers would have the edge as they would out score the rockets 20-28 in the first. Second quarter the trail blazers would continue to sore as they would out score the rockets again the second 24-19. Second half the trailblazers would continue to dominate, out scoring the rockets in the third quarter 31-26. Fourth quarter the rockets would dominate making a tremendous come back, out scoring the trail blazers 33-21, to send the game into over time. In over time the rockets would out score the trial blazers 12-7. Leading scorers for the rockets were James Harden who went 12/28 scoring 41 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 ast. and Dwight Howard with 17 points, 12 rebounds, and 1 ast. Leading scorers for the trail blazers were LaMarcus Aldridge went 10/27 scoring 28 points and 12 rebounds and Wesley Matthews went 5/15 scoring 26 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 ast. The rockets would go on to win it in over time 118-113.
