WNBA ALL-STAR GAME

The WNBA has had a very interesting season thus far. This season this league has gotten a lot of attention because of the NCAA tournament, and the stars from the tournament going on to the WNBA. Leading stars such as Skylar Diggins, Elena Delle Donne, and Brittney Griner were the key players of the draft. Griner and Delle Donne would be among the most elite in the league this season, both making the all-star team, but wouldn't be able to play because of various injuries (Griner- knee) (Delle Donne - concussion). The top headling teams before the all star break, were the Minnesota Lynx, with the best record in the league and top of the west, only losing 3 games this entire season, and being a perfect at home team. The other headling team this season has been the Chicago sky. After the sky drafted Delle Donne in the WNBA draft, they have looked like a completely different team then last season, with being on top in the Eastern Conference, with a record of 12-5. The sky have never made the playoffs prior to this season.
In the first quarter both teams would be pretty evenly matched, both getting out to strong starts, but the west would prevail, and would go on to out score the east 29-27. Second quarter the east would battle back into the game, out scoring the west 22-14 in the second, to go into half time winning by 6. Second half the east would continue to dominate starting off the third quarter up by 11, but the west wouldn't give up, and by the end of the half they would bring the game with in 1. The east would go on to out score the west 32-31 in the third. Fourth quarter the west would come out dominating and showing that they were the better conference out scoring the east in the fourth 28-17.Leading scorers for the east were  Angel McCoughtry with 11 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 ast., Epiphanny Prince with 15 points, and 2 ast. and Ivory Latta with 15 points, 2 rebounds, and 4 ast. Leading scorers for the west were Candace Parker with 23 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 ast. ,Maya Moore with 14 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 ast. and Kristi Toliver with 21 points, 1 rebound and 2 ast. The west would go on to win it 102-98, with Candace Parker leading the way with 23 points, to earn her first All star MVP title.
