WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2013 (DAYS 2 & 3)

In the Olympics last summer we saw the Jamaicans sweep the sprints and in day number two of the World Championships it was no different. Days two and three were very interesting, as the finals began for 100m dash for the men and women. Usain Bolt of Jamaica would go on to win, on the men's side of the 100m dash with a time of 9.77. Justin Gatlin of the United States would go on to get second with a time of 9.85. On the women's end of things the Jamaicans would once again dominate the sprints with two time Olympic champion Kelly An Fraser- Pryce winning with a time of 10.71, and Murielle Ahoure claimed second with a time of 10.93 and Carmelita Jeter of the United States with a time of 10.94. The United States also dominated in a few more events on Monday. In the Men's 110 meter hurdles, the United States showed that they were still a power house in the 110 hurdles. David Oliver had his troubles last year, not making the U.S. team that went to the Olympics last summer, but he would prove on Monday that he had put in a lot of work since last year. David Oliver would win the Gold in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 13.00 seconds, Ryan Wilson of the United States would also claim the silver with a time of 13.13 and Sergery Shubenkov of Russia would get the bronze with a time of 13.24. On Sunday the United States Ashton Eaton would also dominated in the two day long men's Decathlon competition. Eaton broke a world record last summer with the most points ever scored in the Decathlon . Eaton would bring that same dominance to the World Championships this summer with adding another World title to his belt taking the Gold on Sunday. Michael Schrader of Germany  would claim the silver and Damian Warner of Canada would claim the bronze.
