WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS *track and field* (day 1)

The United States was represented well on Saturday on day one of the World Championships in Moscow, Russia. Notable stand out stars from the United States were Ashton Eaton, Francena McCorory, Natasha Hastings and Gunna Nixon. Stand out other stars were Usain Bolt and Jamaican team mate Kelly Ann Fraser-Pryce. Day one Men's 100m Olympic Champion and world record holder Usain Bolt put on a show, easily winning in the semi finals rounds of competition on saturday. On the United States side of things Natasha Hastings would represent the United States in a great way, getting second in her 400m semi final heat Saturday. Also representing the United States well in his competition was Decathlete Ashton Eaton. Ashton Eaton won the Olympic title last summer in the London games and he wanted to come back this year at the World Championships and do the exact same thing, proving he was still the best in the world. After a day of competition Eaton was in first place and had also broke a world record. Eaton had broke another world record Saturday, running the men's decathlon 400m. Eaton ran an astonishing time of 46.02 which has never been ran before at a world championships. We will see in day two if he can stay on top, and win the Gold in the Men's decathlon.
