NBA SEASON OPENER (2013-2014)

Tonight has been a roll coaster night in the NBA starting the evening off with the INDIANA PACERS vs ORLANDO MAGIC. The pacers came into this game, last season going all the way to the NBA Eastern Conference Finals. Since making there finals appearance and getting beat in the series by the Miami heat the pacers have had a rocky pre season. This preseason hasn't been as great as for the pacers as there record would be 2-5. The magic last year had a a disappointing season as they would be the worst team in the league. The magic wanted to get this season off to a great start having a decent preseason going 2-5. First quarter the pacers would get out to a early 5 point lead, as they would out score the magic 23-18. Second quarter magic would battle back into the game taking the lead, out scoring the pacers 26-17 to end the half. Second half the pacers came out very strong, out scoring the magic in the third 29-20. Fourth quarter the pacers would out score the magic, adding to there lead 28-23. Leading scorers for the pacers were Paul George with 24 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 ast., Roy Hibbert with 8 points and 16 rebounds, and Lance Stephenson with 19 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 ast. Leading scorers for the magic were Andre Nicholson with 18 points and 4 rebounds, Maurie Harkless with 14 points and 1 rebound, and Victor Oladipo with 12 points, 3 rebounds and 2 ast. The Pacers would go on to win their season opener 97-87.
Tonight's second match-up of the evening was the much anticipated meeting between the MIAMI HEAT and the CHICAGO BULLS. The heat came into this game as the three time NBA Champions, with winning two titles in a row (2012 and 2013). The heat had a decent pre season as they would end it with a record of 5-3. The bulls came into this season losing to the heat, the past three seasons in the playoffs, cutting there playoff goals short. The bulls would have an outstanding preseason as the team would end it with a record of 8-0. First quarter the bulls would surge out into a early lead but would get caught by the end of the quarter, as the heat would out score the bulls 17-15. Second quarter the heat would extend there momentum resulting in a 37-18 run by the end of the second quarter ending the first half. Second half both teams would come out battling very hard, but the bulls would out score the heat 25-24. Fourth quarter the bulls would make a come back out scoring the heat 37-29 in the fourth. Leading scorers for the heat were Lebron James with 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 8 ast., Chris Bosh with 16 points and 6 rebounds, and Dwyane Wade with 13 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 ast. The Miami Heat would go on to win the season opener against the bulls 107-95.

NFL WEEK 8

Week 8 of the NFL season was under way,  Sunday as we witnessed a incredible match-up between two NFC conference rivals the  NEW YORK GIANTS and the PHILADELPHIA EAGLES. The Eagles came into this game with a record of 3-4 and have struggled ever since their quarter back Michael Vick has went out with a injury. The team was hoping after Sunday's  game they could gain some momentum back that they lost over the past few weeks. The New York giants came into this game with a record of 1-6. The giants had their trouble starting the season, but bounced back in week 7 of the season to put them back on track to be 10-6 on the season and  make it to the playoffs. First quarter the giants would surge out to a early lead with two offensive drives resulting in a 40 yard and 44 yard field goal by field goal kicker Josh Brown, to put them ahead 6-0 by the end of the first quarter. The eagles would be unable to score in the first quarter. Second quarter the giants would continue to out score the eagles, with two more scoring drives resulting in a 33 yard and 46 yard field goal by field goal kicker Josh Brown. The eagles would be unable convert  for the second straight quarter. Second half both teams would struggle in the third quarter, both unable to translate in the third quarter. Fourth quarter the giants came out very strong with another scoring drive resulting in a 27 yard field goal from kicker Josh Brown. The eagles would rebound with a touch down drive of there own with a 2 yard fumble return with Najee Goode making the score and the extra point by eagles kicker Alex Henery. The giants would go on to win the game 15-7. The Philadelphia Eagles would fall to 3-5 and the New York Giants would advance to 2-6.

PREDICTIONS NBA SEASON OPENER

Tomorrow night begins the first night of the NBA regular season, the quest for the 2013-2014 NBA title will be under way. The most anticipated match-up tomorrow evening will be the MIAMI HEAT vs CHICAGO BULLS. This match-up is a rematch of the NBA Eastern Conference finals in 2012 when the heat would go on to win the series. In 2012 Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose would be the 2012 MVP recipient. This past off season the Miami heat added some new pieces to there champion caliber team with Michael Beasley becoming a Heat this past off season. The Heat faced a lot of heat from the media after acquiring Beasley. A lot of people wondered "is this possible". The heat this past preseason have put up a decent preseason record of 5-3. The Chicago bulls coming into this past off season faced a lot of heat as well, after their starting guard Derrick Rose would miss the entire 2012-2013 season to a tore ACL. The bulls, much as the heat faced a lot of heat from the media as well as questioning Derrick Rose's reasons for not playing the entire 2012-2013. The bulls played a solid pre season as well with a record of 5-0. I believe based on the heats new additions to the roster and the time off the heat players have had, I believe they will be even more better this year then last season because of the playoffs and because of the Olympic summer games and the extra practices that they had to dill with last season. I also believe that based on what the bulls did last season with out there MVP player, Derrick Rose, speaks volumes as what talent they have on there roster as well. With the lost of guard Nate Robinson, they will probably be hurting later on in the season, but based on this first match-up and the time the Miami heat have had off to take a break and to relax, could help them spring forward and get their third in a row title. I believe the Miami heat will take the win tomorrow night against the bulls, although the bulls will probably be the number two seed in the Eastern Conference by the time of the playoffs. I believe the game will be close. This heat team has entirely to much talent for them not to win the Eastern Conference and for them not to win this game. Tomorrow night should be a show case as these two teams go head to head, in there first meeting of the season for the quest of the 2013-2014 NBA title.

NBA PRESEASON / SEASON OPENER

The NBA season begins Tuesday and there are a lot of  much anticipated match-ups. The first game of the season will take place on Tuesday October 29th between the MIAMI HEAT  and CHICAGO BULLS. The heat are coming into this season,  off of their second straight NBA title. (3 rd title over all for the heat organization) The Heat have had a very productive 2013 NBA pre season as well, thus far going 4-2. This match-up between the Bulls is going to bring back great memories of the 2012 NBA Eastern Conference Finals  and the 2011 Eastern Conference Finals, where Bulls guard Derrick Rose put the heat up to the test. When the Bulls first faced the heat in 2011 the Chicago Bulls guard caught a lot of attention as he and his team gave the heat stiff competition making the series very competitive.  The bulls guard tore his ACL in the 2012 Eastern Conference finals as the Bulls would go down to the heat and wouldn't advance to the NBA finals. The bulls are coming into this game having a very surprising season last year. Much anticipated, Derrick Rose was expected to be back with his team by the NBA play offs last season, but everyone was shocked when they didn't see the Bulls guard out on the court to start the playoffs. The bulls would put up a fight and would advance past the Brooklyn Nets to the second round of the play offs with out there number one player and various starters going out to injuries as well during this time. The bulls would put up a fight in the second round of the Playoffs but because of the lack of depth on their team, they would lose out to the Miami heat. These two teams have had a lot of history in the past few years, but who will rise to the occasion to start the 2013 NBA season?
