NBA DRAFT 2013

Last night was another very exciting night in the NBA. It wasn't a championship being announced or a MVP trophy being given away, but it was the steps being made toward the future of these awards and to the future of the NBA. Last night we got to see the 2013 NBA DRAFT. The first round was very exciting and had a lot of surprises starting off with the number 1 pick in the draft Anthony Bennett who attended the University of Las Vegas. This was a very shocking pick in the draft, but a lot of people were not shocked by the pick as well, because this draft was believed to be one of the worst drafts in NBA history. Either way Anthony Bennett was the number one pick and he was going to be a Cleveland Cavalier. The prospect that was believed to be the number one player in the draft was Nerlans Noel and he would be chosen as the number 6 over all pick and would be going to the Pelicans, but would soon be traded to the 76 ers. Some other top names in the draft would be Michigan guard Trey Burke who would be drafted number nine over all to the Minnesota Timberwolves, but would be traded to the Utah Jazz. Other big head lining players were Ben McLemore of Kansas who would be drafted 7 over all and would be going to the Sacramento Kings. Another big name in the draft was Syracuse guard Michael Carter-Williams, who would be drafted 11th overall and would be going to the 76 ers.
In this draft there were also a lot of trades.
  • Trey Burke ( ninth overall pick) would be traded to the Utah Jazz from the Minnesota Timber wolves for players ; Shabazz Muhammad and Gorgui Dieng.
  • Nerlens Noel ( sixth overall pick) and a 2014 prospect would be traded to the 76ers from the New Orleans Pelicans for Jrue Holiday.
  • Kelly Olynyk (13th overall pick) and Gonzaga would be traded to the Celtics from the Mavericks for a 1 st round draft pick and Lucas Nogueira.(These were the top trades of the draft.)

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2013 (quilifications)

This past week has been a very tough week in the track and field world in the United States. This past week the U.S Nationals took place. The top three from every "Final" of every race advanced to the World Championships, that will take place later this summer in Moscow. The first final was the men's 200m dash. The favorites, that were in the race were Olympian Wallace Spearman and Tyson Gay. Since the Americans didn't place last summer in London there weren't any true favorites in this race. Wallace Spearman has came off of two tough Olympic years, with in 2008 being taken out of third place because he was disqualified, and in 2012, were swept by the Jamaicans and there talent. Tyson Gay would go on to win the 200m dash in a time of 19.74. The next race that caught a lot of attention was the 100m dash. In this race Olympic Bronze Medalist Jason Gatlin would be the stand out, after he beat Usain Bolt prior to this race in meet earlier in the season. The next stand out in the race was Tyson Gay. The public had forgotten, how dominate Tyson Gay was before his latest injures because of him not being present at the 2012 Olympic games. Tyson Gay would pull the upset, by beating Jason Gatlin with a time of 9.75. The next race that was a stand out was on the women's end, the 100m. At the Olympic games we all remember that the Jamaicans were dominate across the board in the sprints. But we also know that a American snuck onto to the podium as well, a lady by the name of Carmelita Jeter. This season Jeter has had her ups and downs, but at this meet she didn't have to compete because of her bye. (won the 2011 World Championship 100m dash) We got to see a new and fresh group of American women, ready to take on the task, of becoming the worlds fastest women. The field consisted of collegiate stars such as Octavious Freeman and Gardner. Since there was no Carmelita Jeter, the field was wide open, to see who would be the 100m champion. A 21 by the name of Gardner would step up and make a name for her self, by winning the 100 m dash in a time of 10.85. The next shocking race of the after noon was the women 400 m dash. Olympic Champion Sanya Richards-Ross had her ups and downs, since her surgery on her toe. Richards came out to this meet to try to get a spot on the team, since she did not win the automatic qualification for the World Championships. In the 400, Richards would get 6th place, and Natasha Hastings would blow the field away by getting first place.

NBA FINALS GAME 7

Last night was the night. The final official game of this 2012-2013 season, and a great run for the two teams that were apart of the 2013 NBA FINALS MIAMI HEAT vs SAN ANTONIO SPURS. The heat came into this game tied in the series 3-3, after a very intense game number 6, which the heat would go on to win in over time. The spurs came into game 7, letting game number 6 slip through the hands, in the final seconds. The spurs knew that game number 7 was a must win, if they wanted to redeem themselves and win the title. First quarter the heat would show that this game was a must win, and that they were still the defending NBA Champions, out scoring the spurs 18-16. Second quarter both teams would come out with alot of energy, and there offensive effort would show it, with both teams scoring 28. Second half the spurs would battle back into the game, possession after possession, out scoring the heat in the third 27-26. NBA FINALS (game 7 ) (predictions)

Well we all know tonight is the night. The official last game of the season is tonight, between the two best teams in the NBA MIAMI HEAT vs SAN ANTONIO SPURS. The heat are coming into this game off of a miracle victory last game, winning in over time. The head are very lucky they won that game, because of how poor there offense was in the game. There defense was effected also because of how poor the offense was.  The spurs are coming into this game basically winning last game but at the very end letting it slip away from them. Tonight should be a very interesting game tonight I picked the heat to come out with determination and a high level of intesity and to win . I thought in game number 6 the heat were going to have a high level of intensity, but it wasn't as I thought. There offense aas not excuting, starting with the heat guy Lebron James, his offense was not good at all with only 9 points in the first half.So I predict the heat to win game number 7 but I think the game will go into over time and will be very close.

NBA FINALS (game 6)

The NBA FINALS 2013 has took us all on a adventurous roller coaster. It's been a very back and forth battle between the MIAMI HEAT and the SAN ANTONIO SPURS. The Miami heat came into this game down in the series 3-2, and if they wanted to have a chance at the title they had to win game number 6. The spurs came into this game up in the series 3-2, and they knew that if they wanted a chance at the title they had to make sure there wasn't a game number 7, because  they knew how great the heat are in game number 7's .First quarter the heat would show they had determination, and that this was must win game, they out scored the spurs in the first quarter 27-25. Second quarter the the heat would lose it and would let Tim Duncan dominate and would get out scored in the second 25-17. Second half the spurs would come out ready to battle and ready to finish off this game out scoring the heat 25-21. Fourth quarter the heat would muster up determination and would go on to take the lead in the game with 7 minutes left in the game. With 6 minutes left in the game the heat would have a turn over and it would turn the game upside down for the heat . One minute they were up by 5 the next they would be down by 5.With 28 seconds left in the game the heat would be down by 5 and knew that this game was pretty much done. They would get two back to back three pointers, that would send the game into over time . In over time the heat would start off poor, but would get a burst of energy and would go on to out score the spurs in over time . Leading scorers for the heat were Lebron James with 32 points ,10 rebounds, and 11 ast. , Mario Chalmers with 20 points , 4 rebounds , and 2 ast. and Ray Allen with 9 points, 1 rebound , and 2 ast. Leading scorers for the spurs were Tim Duncan with 30 points and 17 rebounds  and Tony Parker with 19 points, 3 rebounds, and 8 ast. The heat would go on to wake up and face reality, and would go on to win this critical game 6 103-100.

NBA FINALS (game 6) (PREDICTION/ ANALYSIS)

Tonight is going to be a very interesting night in the NBA . Its game six of the NBA Finals. The MIAMI HEAT vs SAN ANTONIO SPURS. The heat are coming into this game down in the series 3-2, which takes them back to the exact same situation from 2011 when they lost in the finals to the Dallas Mavericks after being down in game six 3-2. The heat have been in this exact same satuation before , and should know what it takes to over come this problem now that they have faced it before. The spurs are coming into this up in the series 3-2 . In the spurs previous history , they have won every finals series and have been ahead in every one. I predict the heat to win game number 6 simply Because of how they respond to a lost. I believe tonight considering how they lost , that they will bounce back. The heats defense last game was completely out of sink and out of sorts and there excuting was terrible. I believe that if the series is extended to seven games the heat will come up with the win in the series , simply because game number 7 will be on there home court and they will know that the game is a do or die game . Tonight's game number 6 should be a very interesting one !

MLB MONDAY

Tonight's match-up of the evening were the WASHINGTON NATIONALS vs PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES. The nationals came into this game with a record of 34-34 (a perfect 500 on the season). The phillies came into this game with a record of 33-37. First inning the nationals would get out to a early lead, with Werth hitting a single to left field helping Rendon get home and score. The phillies wouldn't get off to that great of a start, coming up scoreless in the first. The nationals would be up 1-0 at the bottom of the first. Second inning the nationals would come up empty, and the phillies would take full advantage off it, seeing it as a way to catch back up. Howard of the phillies would hit a home run to right field making the score at the bottom of the second 1-1. Third inning the phillies would grow momentum, getting two more runs in the third. Young of the phillies would hit a double to right field helping Young and Rollins get home and score, making the score at the bottom of the third 3-1. Fourth inning the phillies would come up empty, but the nationals would battle back into the game. Lombardozzi of the nationals would hit a double to right field helping Suzuki score, making the score at the bottom of the fourth 3-2. Fifth inning the nationals would come up short, but phillies would take this as a chance to extend there lead. Howard would hit a single to right field helping Revere score ,making the score at the bottom of the fifth 4-2. Neither team would score in the sixth or seventh innings. Eighth inning the nationals would be first to bat, and they knew they had alot of ground to make up , if they wanted to win this game. Desmond would hit a single to center field, helping Zimmerman score, making the score 4-3. The phillies would follow, and would come up short, and scoreless in the eighth. Ninth inning the nationals would be first to bat. Tracy of the nationals would hit a home run to right field, making the score 4-4, by the time the phillies came up to bat. Brown of the phillies would hit a single to center field helping Revere score. The phillies would go on to win this hard faught "chest match" 5-4.

NBA FINALS (Game 5)

Last night's match-up of the evening were the MIAMI HEAT vs SAN ANTONIO SPURS. The heat came into this game off of a big win in San Antonio for game number 4 of the series, winning by over 15 points. If the heat wanted a chance in being up in the series before they headed back to Miami , game 5 was a must win. The spurs came into this game, being embarrassed in game 4, after they gave all they had. If the spurs wanted any chance, in being up 3-2 in the series, and a chance at winning the series, game number 5 was a must win. First quarter the heat would look absolutely horrendous, starting off the game defensively out of sink, which would carry over to there offense. The spurs would out score the heat in the first 32-19. Second quarter the heat would get there offense back on track, but there defense wouldn't be able to hold, letting the spurs score 29 points to there 33 points in the second. Second half the spurs would continue to get there way against the heats defense, and would take advantage of the heat being out of sink, out scoring the heat 26-23. Fourth quarter the heat would try to come up with a monster performance, with Ray Allen making 15 points, in the fourth quarter and getting some must needed threes down the stretch. Leading scorers for the heat were Dwyane Wade with 25 points, 4 rebounds, and 10 ast. and Lebron James with 25 points, 6 rebounds, and 8 ast. Leading scorers for the spurs were Danny Green with 24 points and 6 rebounds and Tony Parker with 26 points, 1 rebound, and 5 ast. The heat would go on to lose a very crucial game number 5, but would get amazing efforts from Ray Allen and Shane Battier, down the stretch, but it just wouldn't be enough for the heat. The spurs would go on to win it 114-104.

NBA FINALS 2013 (Game 5) (PREDICTIONS/ANALYSIS)

Tommrow the NBA Finals will be on to game number 5, with both teams the MIAMI HEAT vs SAN ANTONIO SPURS both being tied at 2-2 games a piece, which means the next team to win 2 out of 3 games will be the next World Champion. The heat are coming into this game winning game number 4, which was a must win game for the heat if they wanted any chance at being able to send the series home, and extend the series to 6 games. The spurs lost a very hard faught game in game number 4, but it wasn't enough, and they would lose by over 15. In game number five I believe the spurs will come out ready to battle, and since this game will be the last one on there home floor I believe they will prevail and come out with the win. In this game I also believe that the heat would come up lethargic, and not ready to play, which will lead to a lost on there end, which usually happens win the heat have a big win. The spurs after having a big lost usually pull together in a very strong way, and I believe that if they get going at the beginning of the game, the heat will not be able to defend that. Although I still believe that the heat will win the series, they probabaly will not win game 5.

NCAA men's WORLD SERIES *update*

First quarter both teams would come out very strong, both scoring 22 points in the first. 2013 Diamond League Rome

Today was a great day for Track and Field.  The Americans represented our nation in a fantastic way, as they knew how, but we always have to be very concous of the other leading nation in trafk and field (the Jamaicans). Eventhough the Americans were on another side of the globe competeing, they still went to Rome to represent our nation, and they did that very well. Justin Gatlin of the United States had the biggest upset of the day when he beat the World Record Holder and Olympic Champion and Gold medalist in the 100m dash Usain Bolt with a time of 9.94 sec. Before the race Gatlin had said something to the extent that when you train well you will win. It paid off in this instance and he , is looking for ward  to the next big meet, the Nationals soon. Today was another great day  on the women's side of the meet as well.Eventhough the two americans in the 400m dash didn't win, they still made a statement. Natasha Hastings and Keshia Baker made there mark in the 400 getting 2nd and 3rd place behind the winner Amantle Montsho , who had won the 400m dash 4 times this season. Overall the americans made there statement in this meet, and they will be ready to represent at Nationals.
