2013 Diamond League Rome

Today was a great day for Track and Field.  The Americans represented our nation in a fantastic way, as they knew how, but we always have to be very concous of the other leading nation in trafk and field (the Jamaicans). Eventhough the Americans were on another side of the globe competeing, they still went to Rome to represent our nation, and they did that very well. Justin Gatlin of the United States had the biggest upset of the day when he beat the World Record Holder and Olympic Champion and Gold medalist in the 100m dash Usain Bolt with a time of 9.94 sec. Before the race Gatlin had said something to the extent that when you train well you will win. It paid off in this instance and he , is looking for ward  to the next big meet, the Nationals soon. Today was another great day  on the women's side of the meet as well.Eventhough the two americans in the 400m dash didn't win, they still made a statement. Natasha Hastings and Keshia Baker made there mark in the 400 getting 2nd and 3rd place behind the winner Amantle Montsho , who had won the 400m dash 4 times this season. Overall the americans made there statement in this meet, and they will be ready to represent at Nationals.
