MLB MONDAY

Tonight's match-up of the evening were the WASHINGTON NATIONALS vs PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES. The nationals came into this game with a record of 34-34 (a perfect 500 on the season). The phillies came into this game with a record of 33-37. First inning the nationals would get out to a early lead, with Werth hitting a single to left field helping Rendon get home and score. The phillies wouldn't get off to that great of a start, coming up scoreless in the first. The nationals would be up 1-0 at the bottom of the first. Second inning the nationals would come up empty, and the phillies would take full advantage off it, seeing it as a way to catch back up. Howard of the phillies would hit a home run to right field making the score at the bottom of the second 1-1. Third inning the phillies would grow momentum, getting two more runs in the third. Young of the phillies would hit a double to right field helping Young and Rollins get home and score, making the score at the bottom of the third 3-1. Fourth inning the phillies would come up empty, but the nationals would battle back into the game. Lombardozzi of the nationals would hit a double to right field helping Suzuki score, making the score at the bottom of the fourth 3-2. Fifth inning the nationals would come up short, but phillies would take this as a chance to extend there lead. Howard would hit a single to right field helping Revere score ,making the score at the bottom of the fifth 4-2. Neither team would score in the sixth or seventh innings. Eighth inning the nationals would be first to bat, and they knew they had alot of ground to make up , if they wanted to win this game. Desmond would hit a single to center field, helping Zimmerman score, making the score 4-3. The phillies would follow, and would come up short, and scoreless in the eighth. Ninth inning the nationals would be first to bat. Tracy of the nationals would hit a home run to right field, making the score 4-4, by the time the phillies came up to bat. Brown of the phillies would hit a single to center field helping Revere score. The phillies would go on to win this hard faught "chest match" 5-4.
