The cubs came into this game with struggling throughout the season , but tonight they were on a mission to win. First inning both teams would come up empty, not scoring any runs in the first. Second inning the reds would come up empty, but the cubs would take full advantage of the reds. The cubs Schierholtz would hit a strong home run to right field. The third through fifth inning neither team would score. Sixth inning the cubs would come up empty, but the reds would come up big. The cubs Phillips would hit a single to right field helping Chao get a huge run in, making the score at the bottom of the sixth 1-1. Seventh inning the cubs would come up empty, but the reds would take full advantage of the cubs. The reds Frazier would hit a home run to left field , making the score at the bottom of the fourth 2-1. Neither team would score in the eighth and ninth inning. The reds would go on to win it 2-1.
