NFL (BLACK MONDAY)

In the NFL, monday December 30th was the day that all organizations dreaded, whether you were the owner of the team who had to make the decision to keep your coach or fire your coach or "front office" or you were on the other side, as a coach scared of the unknown of not having a job for the next NFL season. The first coach firing that began Black Monday  was after the team went 4-12 this season. The team stuggled throughout the season a tremendous bit as owner Jim Haslem had to change the direction the team was headed as he fired him Sunday. The second coach firing was with the Detriot Lions. After five years and six seasons with the Lions organization Jim Schwartz was fired monday after the 7-9 season. The organization over the past two years in particular were worried of the direction the organization was headed. The lions President expressed Monday that "The simple fact is we have fallen short of the expectations of our ownership, and those expectations are simple," Lewand said. The third coach firing that took place on Black Monday was the firing of head coach Mike Shanahan of the Washington Redskins. The redskins had a unbelievable season in 2012 as they would make the playoffs. The redskins coach Shanahan during the playoff run would face alot of criticism as he would keep Redskins quarter back Robert Griffin in the game while he battled a knee injury. After last seasons great success the redskins had high expectations for the 2013 season but once falling short of those goals the redskins knew it was time for some changes. The redskins future is currently in the air, as to the organization has disclosed any possible candidates for the new head coaching job in Washington. The fourth coach fired on black monday was Minnesota Viking head coach Leslie Frazier after the team went 5-10-1 for the 2013 season. The vikings in the 2012 season went 10-6 to make the playoffs and were caught off guard when the team went 5-10-1 this past season. In a statement by the team owner on monday he said  "He stepped in and established a strong positive culture here, and he has been the consummate professional as our head coach and in this community." As far as the future of the viking organization , they have possible coaches Jack Del Rio former Vikings linebacker as a possible head coaching fit for the organization. Also Adam Gase is a possible fit for  the head coaching job in Minnesota. The final coach out on Black monday was Tampa Bay head coach Greg Schinano. The Buccaneers fired Schinano after the teams 3rd straight losing season. Possible coaches that are being considered are former bears coach Lovie Smith and former coach Gary Kubiak. In a statement monday Buccaneers co- chairman  had some regards "The results over the past two years have not lived up to our standards and we believe the time has come to find a new direction."

Tonight has been a roll coaster night in the NBA starting the evening off with the INDIANA PACERS vs ORLANDO MAGIC. The pacers came into this game, last season going all the way to the NBA Eastern Conference Finals. Since making there finals appearance and getting beat in the series by the Miami heat the pacers have had a rocky pre season. This preseason hasn't been as great as for the pacers as there record would be 2-5. The magic last year had a a disappointing season as they would be the worst team in the league. The magic wanted to get this season off to a great start having a decent preseason going 2-5. First quarter the pacers would get out to a early 5 point lead, as they would out score the magic 23-18. Second quarter magic would battle back into the game taking the lead, out scoring the pacers 26-17 to end the half. Second half the pacers came out very strong, out scoring the magic in the third 29-20. Fourth quarter the pacers would out score the magic, adding to there lead 28-23. The bulls came into this season losing to the heat, the past three seasons in the playoffs, cutting there playoff goals short. The bulls would have an outstanding preseason as the team would end it with a record of 8-0. First quarter the bulls would surge out into a early lead but would get caught by the end of the quarter, as the heat would out score the bulls 17-15. Second quarter the heat would extend there momentum resulting in a 37-18 run by the end of the second quarter ending the first half. NFL WEEK 8

Week 8 of the NFL season was under way,  Sunday as we witnessed a incredible match-up between two NFC conference rivals the  NEW YORK GIANTS and the PHILADELPHIA EAGLES. The Eagles came into this game with a record of 3-4 and have struggled ever since their quarter back Michael Vick has went out with a injury. The team was hoping after Sunday's  game they could gain some momentum back that they lost over the past few weeks. The New York giants came into this game with a record of 1-6. The giants had their trouble starting the season, but bounced back in week 7 of the season to put them back on track to be 10-6 on the season and  make it to the playoffs. First quarter the giants would surge out to a early lead with two offensive drives resulting in a 40 yard and 44 yard field goal by field goal kicker Josh Brown, to put them ahead 6-0 by the end of the first quarter. The eagles would be unable to score in the first quarter. PREDICTIONS NBA SEASON OPENER

Tomorrow night begins the first night of the NBA regular season, the quest for the 2013-2014 NBA title will be under way. The most anticipated match-up tomorrow evening will be the MIAMI HEAT vs CHICAGO BULLS. This match-up is a rematch of the NBA Eastern Conference finals in 2012 when the heat would go on to win the series. In 2012 Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose would be the 2012 MVP recipient. This past off season the Miami heat added some new pieces to there champion caliber team with Michael Beasley becoming a Heat this past off season. The Heat faced a lot of heat from the media after acquiring Beasley. A lot of people wondered "is this possible". The heat this past preseason have put up a decent preseason record of 5-3. The Chicago bulls coming into this past off season faced a lot of heat as well, after their starting guard Derrick Rose would miss the entire 2012-2013 season to a tore ACL. The bulls, much as the heat faced a lot of heat from the media as well as questioning Derrick Rose's reasons for not playing the entire 2012-2013. The bulls played a solid pre season as well with a record of 5-0. I believe based on the heats new additions to the roster and the time off the heat players have had, I believe they will be even more better this year then last season because of the playoffs and because of the Olympic summer games and the extra practices that they had to dill with last season. I also believe that based on what the bulls did last season with out there MVP player, Derrick Rose, speaks volumes as what talent they have on there roster as well. With the lost of guard Nate Robinson, they will probably be hurting later on in the season, but based on this first match-up and the time the Miami heat have had off to take a break and to relax, could help them spring forward and get their third in a row title. I believe the Miami heat will take the win tomorrow night against the bulls, although the bulls will probably be the number two seed in the Eastern Conference by the time of the playoffs. I believe the game will be close. This heat team has entirely to much talent for them not to win the Eastern Conference and for them not to win this game. Tomorrow night should be a show case as these two teams go head to head, in there first meeting of the season for the quest of the 2013-2014 NBA title.

NBA PRESEASON / SEASON OPENER

The NBA season begins Tuesday and there are a lot of  much anticipated match-ups. The first game of the season will take place on Tuesday October 29th between the MIAMI HEAT  and CHICAGO BULLS. The heat are coming into this season,  off of their second straight NBA title. (3 rd title over all for the heat organization) The Heat have had a very productive 2013 NBA pre season as well, thus far going 4-2. This match-up between the Bulls is going to bring back great memories of the 2012 NBA Eastern Conference Finals  and the 2011 Eastern Conference Finals, where Bulls guard Derrick Rose put the heat up to the test. When the Bulls first faced the heat in 2011 the Chicago Bulls guard caught a lot of attention as he and his team gave the heat stiff competition making the series very competitive.  The bulls guard tore his ACL in the 2012 Eastern Conference finals as the Bulls would go down to the heat and wouldn't advance to the NBA finals. The bulls are coming into this game having a very surprising season last year. Much anticipated, Derrick Rose was expected to be back with his team by the NBA play offs last season, but everyone was shocked when they didn't see the Bulls guard out on the court to start the playoffs. The bulls would put up a fight and would advance past the Brooklyn Nets to the second round of the play offs with out there number one player and various starters going out to injuries as well during this time. The bulls would put up a fight in the second round of the Playoffs but because of the lack of depth on their team, they would lose out to the Miami heat. These two teams have had a lot of history in the past few years, but who will rise to the occasion to start the 2013 NBA season?

NFL Prediction

Tommrow officially starts the beginning of the NFL season, with the first regular season game being played between the BALTIMORE RAVENS vs DENVER BRONCOS. The broncos are coming into this game ready to get revenge against the Ravens, after losing the division round game of the playoffs to the ravens. The Broncos are coming into this game off of a 11 game winning streak, after it was broken last season when they lost to the Ravens. Key players in this match-up are Baltimore Ravens receiver Jacoby Jones, who played a big role in the last game the team played in the playoffs. Broncos safety Rahim Moore lost sight of the Ravens receiver Jacoby Jones last time the teams played and Ravens Quarterback Joe Flacco connected with Jones to get a 70 yard touch down. Moore had comments on this years matchup against the Ravens this season. "But the good thing about it is it's a whole new year. Nobody remembers what you did last year." Based on the out come of the last game, the Broncos are going to come out more powerful. This offseason the Broncos have added some very important offensive weapons to there line up such as receiver Wes Welker. The Broncos will come out very strong and ready to get revenge. The Ravens have had there troubles this season with there defense . Ray Lewis retired after the super bowl last year and Ed Reed signed with the Texans this offseason, so there will be a lot of new faces for the Baltimore franchise. I believe the Broncos will take it 32:14, because of the high powered Broncos offense . I also believe that even though the ravens have new faces on there defense Peyton Manning might be to much for them.
