MLB SUNDAY/NBA SUNDAY/ NCAA TOURNEMENT (men's /women's)

The major league baseball season began tonight. The two teams who started off the season were HOUSTON ASTROS vs  TEXAS RANGERS. The Houston Astros came into this game on a good note, after last season disaster they were hopeing this game would start them on a good track. The Texas Rangers came into this game ready to get there season started. First inning both teams came out of it with 0 runs. Second inning both teams also came out of it with 0 runs. Third inning both teams came out of it with 0 runs. Fourth inning the rangers wouldn't score but Wallace and Pena of the Astros would add 2 runs to there bored for the astros. Fifth inning the rangers wouldn't score again but the astros Barnes and Cedeno would go on to score for the astros. Sixth inning the Rangers would knew they were behind 4 runs to zero, the Rangers Murphy and Berkman scored a well needed 2 runs but the astros came back at the end of the inning with Maxwell and Dominguez scoring for the astros making the ball game 2-7. Seventh inning both teams wouldn't score. Eight inning the Rangers wouldn't score but the Astros would go on to score a run by Maxwell. Ninth inning both teams wouldn't score any runs. The Houston Astros would leave a mark out scoring the Texas Rangers 2-8.

Tonight's NBA game of the evening started with the MIAMI HEAT vs SAN ANTONIO SPURS. This game was a very big game for both teams. Both teams had the top records in there Eastern and Western Conference so this game was very big for not just them but for the NBA as a whole. The Miami heat came into this game losing one of there last games to the bulls breaking there 27 game winning streak, but they were hopeing this would be the game that would help them bounce back. The Spurs came into this game, as the leading team in the Western Conference. The Miami heat came into this game with a record of 57-15. The San Antonio Spurs came into this game with a record of 55-17. First quarter the spurs would out score the heat 24-22. Second quarter the Spurs would continue there domination and prove they were the best team in the NBA,  out scoring the heat in the second 21-18. Second half the Miami heat would come out fighting back, out scoring the Spurs in the third 31-19. Fourth quarter the spurs would out score the Heat 22-17. Leading scores for the Miami heat were Chris bosh 23 points and 9 rebounds. Leading scores for the Spurs were Tim Duncan with 17 points 12 rebounds and 4 ast. and Tony Parker with 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 8 ast. The Miami heat would go on to win it ,with out there 3 leading scorers (Dwayne Wade, Mario Chalmers, and Lebron James) 88-86 proving they really are the best team in the NBA.

Tonight's second NBA match-up of the evening were BOSTON CELTICS vs NEW YORK KNICKS . The Celtics came into this game with a record of 38-34. The Knicks came into this game with a record of 45-26.(Celtics Paul Pierce trying to gain ball control over Knicks defender Carmelo Anthony) The knicks would go on to win it 108-89.

 

 

Tonight's NCAA TOURNAMENT women's match-up of the evening were the BAYLOR BEARS vs LOUISVILLE CARDINAL. The Baylor Bears came into the tournament as being a Number one seed and the defending NCAA TOURNAMENT champion. The Baylor bears had only lost to one other team this season. The Louisville cardinals came into the tournament as a number 5 seed. The Cardinals came into this game with a  record 26-8. First half the cardinal came out very physical out scoring the Bears in the first half 39-29. Second half the Bears would out score the cardinals 52-43. Leading scorers for the bears were Odyssey Sims with 29 points and 5 ast. and Brittany Griner with 10 rebounds. The Cardinals would go on to pull the biggest upset in women's college basketball history, beating the defending champions and the number one seed over all 82-81.

 

Tonight's NCAA TOURNAMENT men's match-up of the evening were the DUKE BLUE DEVILS  vs  LOUISVILLE CARDINALS . The Cardinals came into the tournament as the number 1 seed overall. The cardinals came into this game with a record of 32-5. The Blue Devils came into the tournament as a number 2 seed on there side of the bracket. The Blue Devils came into this game with a record of 30-5. First half both teams came out very strong but the Cardinals would out score the Blue Devils 35-32. The cardinals guard Kevin Ware would break his leg in the first half trying to block a shot he would not return. Second half the Cardinals would dominate and would out score the Blue Devils in the second half 50-31. Leading scorers for the Cardinals were Russ Smith with 23 points and 2 rebounds, Gorgui Dieng with 14 points, 11 rebounds, and 1 ast, and Peyton Siva 16 points, 2 rebounds, and 4 ast. Leading scorers for the Blue Devils were Mason Plumlee with 17 points and 12 rebounds, and 2 ast. The Cardinals in the second half would show a dominating performance out scoring the Blue Devils overall 85-63.



NCAA TOURNAMENT (Men's)

Tonight's first key match-up in the NCAA tournament were the KANSAS JAYHAWKS vs MICHIGAN WOLVERINES. The Jayhawks came into the tournament as a number one seed. The Jayhawks record coming into this game was 31-5. The Wolverines came into this game as a number four seed. The Wolverines came into this game with a record of 28-7. First half the Jayhawks got out to a commanding lead and out scoring the Wolverines in the first half 40-34. Second half the Wolverines would fight back, and would out score the Jayhawks in the second half 42-36, sending the game into over time. In over time the Wolverines would push through, and would out score the Jayhawks 11-9 in over time. Leading scorers for the Jayhawks were Ben McLemore 20 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 ast. , Jeff Withey 12 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 ast., and Naadir Tharpe with 2 points, 2 rebounds, and 7 ast. The Wolverines would go on to pull the upset beating number one seed Kansas 87-85 advancing to the Elite 8.

Tonight's second match-up of the evening were FLORIDA GULF COAST EAGLES vs FLORIDA GATORS. The Florida Gators came into the tournament as number three seed. The Gators came into this game with a record of 28-7. The Florida Gulf Coast Eagles came into the tournament as a number 15 seed. The Eagles came into this game with a record of 26-10. First half, the Eagles got out to a very commanding lead, out scoring the Gators in the first few minutes by almost 11 points, but by the end of the quarter the Gators had found a rhythm and a way to catch back up. The Gators would go on to out score the Eagles in the first half 30-26. Second half the Gators would find there rhythm and continue there domination over the Eagles out scoring them in the second half 32-24. Leading scorers for the Eagles were Sherwood Brown 14 points and 6 rebounds and Brett Comer with 4 points, 4 rebounds, and 7 ast. The Gators would go on to win it 62-50 advancing the the elite 8.

 

NCAA Tournament (Men's )/ NBA THURSDAY

Tonight’s  NCAA Tournament (Men’s ) match-up of the evening were the  MIAMI HURRICANES(2) vs MARQUETTE GOLDEN EAGLES (3). The Miami hurricanes came into the NCAA tournament as a number 2 seed. The Miami hurricanes record coming into this game was 27-6. The Marguette Golden Eagles record coming into this game was 23-8 . The Eagles came into the tournament as a number 3 seed. First half the Golden Eagles came out very strong outscoring the hurricanes in the first 29-16. Second half the Hurricanes would make a attempt to catch back up, out scoring the Golden Eagles in the second half 45-42. Leading scorers for Hurricanes were Shane Larkin with 14 points, 4 rebounds and 4 ast. Leading scorers for the Golden Eagles were Jamil Wilson 16 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 ast. The Indiana Pacers came into this game, getting a win over the Houston Rockets in the Wednesday Night match-up March 27^th. The Pacers were a number 2 seed in the Eastern Conference, and they came into this game with a record of 44-27. The Mavericks came into this game trying to stay alive in the Western Conference. The Mavericks came into this game knowing they are 2/3 spots out of a Playoff spot in the Western Conference, they were hopeing this would be the game that would put them back on track to make the play-offs. Tonight's game of the evening were the the MIAMI HEAT vs CHICAGO BULLS . The Miami heat came into this game on a 27 game winning streak . The Miami heat's record coming into this game was 56-14, they had the best record in the NBA. The Chicago Bulls came into this game with a record of 38-31 and was a playoff contender in the Eastern Conference. First quarter the bulls came out very strong out scoring the Miami heat in the first 32-22. Second quarter the heat would try to fight back making sure the bulls didn't get to far ahead. The Miami heat would out score the Bulls in the second 24-23. Second half the Miami heat would come back and would out score the Bulls in the third 22-14. This game was a very important Conference game for both teams. The Rockets came into this game with a record of 38-31. First quarter both teams came out very strong but the Rockets would win the battle, out scoring the Spurs in the first 22-20. Kansas came into this game with a record of 30-5 and a number 1 seed. First half North Carolina came out very strong, out scoring Kansas 30-21. Second half Kansas would fight back and would come from behind to win. The Panthers came into this game with a record of 17-14 and the SWAC champion, they also came into this game as a number 16 seed. The Chicago Bulls came into this game as being a strong contender in the Eastern Conference for the play-offs. The Bulls came into this game with a record of 36-31. First quarter the Pacers came out very strong trying to get out to a very early lead out scoring the Bulls 22-16. Second quarter the Bulls would fight back and would out score the Pacers in the second 23-22. Second half the Bulls would out score the Pacers in the third 29-23. Fourth quarter the Bulls would finish off the game out scoring the Pacers 19-17 in the fourth. First half the Aggies came out very strong, out scoring the Shockers in the first 35-22. Second half the Aggies continued there great play of basketball out scoring the Shockers in the second 36-23. The Lady Aggies would go on to win it 71-45.

The first match-up from the NCAA tournament were the DUKE BLUE DEVILS vs ALBANY GREAT DANES . Duke came into this came with a record of 27-5 which earned them the number 2 seed in there side of the bracket. Albany came into this game with a record of 24-10 and  as a number 15 seed. This game was a very big game for Albany because they wanted to come out and prove everyone wrong and pull the upset. First half Albany came out very strong but duke would go on to our score them in the first half 35-26. Second half Albany knowing they were behind and had to catch up score 35 points but it wouldn't be enough, Duke would go on to our score them in the second half 38-35. Fourth quarter the Miami heat would make a amazing come back and would out score the Cavaliers in the fourth 30-18. The Orlando Magic came into this game struggling but they were hopeing this would be the game that would put there season back on the right track. The Orlando Magic came into this game with a record of 18-49. First quarter the Pacers came out very strong out scoring the Magic in the first 19-12. Second quarter the Pacers would continue there excellent play of basketball out scoring the Magic 23-17. Second half the Magic would try to fight back but it wouldn't be enough the Pacers would win the battle out scoring the Magic in the third 27-26. Fourth quarter the Pacers would prove to be to much for the Magic, the pacers would out score the Magic in the fourth 26-18. Fourth quarter the Cavaliers would try to fight back but it would be to little to late they would out score the Pacers 28-24. Second quarter the Miami heat continued there great play of basketball out scoring the raptors in the second 28-24. Second half the Raptors fought back out scoring the heat in the third 30-21. Fourth quarter the Miami heat came back and out scored the Raptors in the fourth 32-18. Today's second match-up of the day were the NEW YORK KNICKS vs LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS. The New York Knicks came into this game very strong trying to fight there way back up to the second seed in the Eastern Conference. The New York Knicks came into this game with a record of 38-25. The Los Angeles clippers came into this game as the number three seed in the Western Conference (One game ahead of the Grizzles) so  this game was very important to solidifying the third place spot in the Western Conference for the playoffs. The Clippers came into this game with a record of 45-21. First quarter both teams came out very strong but the Clippers would out score the Knicks in the first 21-18. Second quarter the clippers would extended the lead out scoring the Knicks 23-19. Second half the Knicks would make a attempt to try to catch back up but the Clipperswould prove to be to much for the knicks and  would out score them 28-23. Fourth quarter Clippers would finish off the game and would out score the knicks in the fourth 21-20. The Mavericks were hopeing this game would be the game that could possibly turn there season around so that they would have a chance in making the play-offs. The Milwaukee bucks in the eastern conference and the Utah Jazz in the western conference. The Utah jazz had a record of 32-27 coming into this game and were a game head of the Rockets in the 7th place standing in the play-offs in the western conference, so this game was very important if they wanted to stay ahead of the Rockets in the standings. The Milwaukee bucks had a record of 29-28 leading into this game. First quarter both teams came out strong but the Utah Jazz would have the edge out scoring the Bucks in the first 24-20. Second quarter the bucks would fight back and would out score the Jazz barely in the second 25-24. Second half the Bucks would come out very commanding, scoring a very respectable 30 points in the third, out scoring the Jazz in the third 30-17. Fourth quarter the Jazz would fight back to send the game into over time, out scoring the Jazz in the fourth 34-24. In over time the bucks would score 10 points and the Jazz would only score 9 giving the bucks the win. Leading scorers for the Jazz were Derrick Favors with 23 points, 15 rebounds and 1 ast. Leading scorers for the Bucks were Monta Ellis with 34 points, 3 ast, and 4 rebounds, Larry Sanders with 8 points and 16 rebounds, and J.J Redick bringing them to the win scoring 8 of there 10 points scored in the overtime period.
